Breakdancer II

Whew! Another challenging one, but at least this time I knew full well what I was getting myself into. I've always liked paintings of crowds but I think I'll let other people do them for a while.

This looks great Dani!! I really like how the figures all kinda form a pattern behind the dancer. Your figures keep getting better and better!

I remember like 7 yrs ago I was in Atlanta Georgia and I saw some breakdancer stuff going on. And i thought it would be cool to paint some break dance paintings. And look at you. Makin it happen for real. these are cool. Your portraits are cool. thanks for your comments. those are cool too. Keep on. I've heard all big things about Austin. I've never been. Whats the gallery scene like there?

and thanks for saying my Angus painting doesn't seem cliche. I want to do more music industry / music related paintings but Its tricky to get the right feel for'm. I want to somehow capture the energy of how I feel about the music in the painting. A conservative schmid-like painting wouldn't work, but rock-n-roll stage colors are way too played and seem too swap-meet. Lets see that blondie painting

Thanks, Justin! Austin is a very cool place to live, but from what I've heard, the gallery scene is not comparable to other big cities. I think they're trying to work on that. And I couldn't find any good Blondie pics so I'm thinking about Shirley Manson now. I'll be sure to give you props for inspiration on that one.

Hi again Dani,
I was looking through all the artist you like and I though you might like Natalie Ascencios' work: http://www.ascencios.com/
She's one of my favorites. I really liked a lot of the painters you had listed too. Lots of great figurative work.

Thanks for the link, Sarah. Cool stuff, reminds me of Schiele, and I love him!
